The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) recently submitted the draft schedule for the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 to the International Cricket Council (ICC) on July 3. The highly anticipated India vs Pakistan match is proposed to take place in Lahore on March 1. The tournament will feature all 15 matches from February 19 to March 9, with matches spread across Lahore, Karachi, and Rawalpindi.
During the ICC T20 World Cup final in Barbados, PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi presented the tentative schedule. Seven games are scheduled to be held in Lahore, three in Karachi, and five in Rawalpindi. The opening match will be in Karachi, with the semifinals in Karachi and Rawalpindi, and the final in Lahore.
While all board chiefs of participating countries have assured their support, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) will consult with the Indian government before confirming India's participation in the tournament. It is important to note that the ICC cannot force any board to go against its government's policy. In the previous major tournament held in Pakistan, the Asia Cup 2023, India did not participate due to government restrictions, which led to a hybrid tournament format with matches played in Sri Lanka.
