On Saturday, James Anderson of England achieved a remarkable feat by taking his 700th Test wicket.
He became the third cricketer in the world to achieve this milestone. Anderson dismissed Kuldeep Yadav on day three of the fifth Test against India in Dharamsala to reach this landmark.
He is the first fast bowler to achieve this feat, following spinners Muttiah Muralitharan (800 wickets) of Sri Lanka and the late Shane Warne (708 wickets) of Australia.
Anderson dismissed overnight batsman Yadav by inducing an edge off a length delivery outside off. He celebrated with his teammates gathering around him (see video below).
The crowd gave him a standing ovation as the veteran quickly raised the ball.
Anderson began the series 10 wickets away from the record and started the final match with 698 wickets.
Anderson started his career in 2003 at Lord's against Zimbabwe and has played 187 matches since.
He is known as the 'swing king' for his ability to move the ball in both directions. Anderson has an average of under 27 and has taken 32 five-wicket hauls in Tests.
