Anneke Bosch is sharing her emotions after victory over Australia

Anneke Bosch was the standout performer for South Africa in their thrilling eight-wicket win over Australia in the Women’s T20 World Cup semi-final in Dubai on Thursday. Bosch's brilliant unbeaten 74 from 48 balls anchored the Proteas’ chase of a modest 135, breaking Australia’s unbeaten streak against South Africa in T20 World Cups.

Though supported by captain Laura Wolvaardt, who scored a solid 42 from 37 balls, Bosch was the key player, hitting eight fours and a six. After the early dismissal of opener Tazmin Brits (15), Bosch steadied the innings and guided her team to victory, hitting the winning runs.

"My heart is racing. It was tough out there, but I’m really glad we could get over the line, and I could finally contribute with some runs," Bosch said. "I just had to play according to the conditions and stick to my plan. This win means a lot; I can't describe it. We knew we were capable of it, and we’ve had a great tournament coming into this game."

After Brits' departure in the fifth over with the score at 25, Bosch took charge of the chase.

"Laura and Taz have been incredible for us throughout the tournament, providing a strong foundation. Today was different after the early wicket, but my mindset remained the same," Bosch explained.

The victory secured South Africa’s spot in their second T20 World Cup final.
