Australia's Mitchell Starc didn't live up to his billing in the IPL as his six wickets at an economy rate of 12.94 proved costly for Kolkata Knight Riders.
The left-arm quickly returned to the IPL after a nine-year absence when he became the most expensive buy in IPL history at $2.98 million.
Starc has had his moments, including figures of 3-28 in a win over Lucknow Super Giants.
But he has also been guilty of leaking runs at the back end, and his 19-ball final over on Sunday almost gave the game away to Bengaluru.
Two-time winners Kolkata are second on the table despite Starc's lack of fire.
