David Moore Set to Step Down from Bangladesh Cricket Board Role

David Moore, Head of Programs at the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB), is unlikely to continue in his position after his tenure concludes, citing family obligations as the primary reason.

Appointed in January 2023 on a two-year contract, the Australian’s term officially ends on December 31, 2024. A senior BCB official confirmed and stated that the board will soon decide on the next steps.

"Yes he informed us that he will not stay after the end of his tenure that ends this December," BCB director Nazmul Abedin said on Thursday (December 12).
"The Board will decide regarding their next course of action when the time comes," he added.

Key Contributions to BCB Programs

During his tenure, Moore played a pivotal role in designing and implementing strategies for the High Performance Unit and the Bangladesh Tigers programs. These initiatives aimed to bolster the progress of the national team while also focusing on coach development programs. His efforts were central to aligning the board’s high-performance strategies with the needs of the senior team.

David Hemp to Return

In related news, a BCB official revealed plans to reinstate David Hemp as the head of the High Performance Unit. Previously serving as the national team’s batting coach, Hemp was released from his duties and is set to rejoin in his new role.

As Moore prepares to move on, the BCB looks toward reshaping its high-performance structure to continue fostering the growth of Bangladesh cricket.
