Jofra Archer is unlikely to play Test cricket until at least 2025 due to a persistent elbow injury. But England cricket chief Rob Key believes that the paceman could be a valuable asset for the T20 World Cup, which is set to take place in the Caribbean and United States starting on June 1.
Archer bowled the Super Over in the dramatic 2019 ODI World Cup final at Lord’s when England beat New Zealand.
However, his career has been plagued by injuries since then, and he missed the entire home season last year due to a stress fracture in his right elbow.
Although he signed a two-year central contract with England in October, he has not played a Test since February 2021.
