Future trip to Zimbabwe

The Indian cricket board, BCCI, has made a significant change to the India squad for the upcoming T20I series against Zimbabwe. Nitish Reddy, who was originally selected for the tour, has been sidelined due to injury. Taking his place is star all-rounder Shivam Dube, who has been called up to join the squad.

The five-match T20I series between India and Zimbabwe is set to begin on July 6, with a second-string Indian team taking on the hosts. The BCCI recently announced the change to the squad, with Dube stepping in for the injured Reddy.

Dube, who is currently part of the Indian team in the T20 World Cup 2024, was not initially part of the plans for the series against Zimbabwe. Nonetheless, he has now been included as a replacement for Reddy, who is under the care of the BCCI Medical Team.

Known for his explosive left-handed batting and right-arm medium-fast bowling, Dube's performance in the T20 World Cup has been unspectacular. The updated India squad for the series is led by Shubman Gill as captain, alongside other promising young talents.

All five T20I matches in the series will kick off at 4:30 PM IST at the Harare Sports Club in Zimbabwe.

Updated India squad for IND vs ZIM T20I series: Shubman Gill (Captain), Yashasvi Jaiswal, Ruturaj Gaikwad, Abhishek Sharma, Rinku Singh, Sanju Samson (WK), Dhruv Jurel (WK), Riyan Parag, Washington Sundar, Ravi Bishnoi, Avesh Khan, Khaleel Ahmed, Mukesh Kumar, Tushar Deshpande, Shivam Dube.
