Hampshire Women's cricket stars Lauren Bell, Maia Bouchier, Freya Kemp, and Linsey Smith have earned spots in England’s squads for their upcoming tour of South Africa. The series, scheduled from November 24 to December 18, includes three IT20s, three ODIs, and a Test match.
For Freya Kemp, this tour is particularly special, as the 19-year-old has received her first Test call-up. She will join Bell and Bouchier in the squad for the one-off Test on December 15. The trio will also represent England in the ODI format, while Linsey Smith is set to feature in the IT20s alongside them.
All four players are integral to Hampshire Women’s squad for the 2025 season, with the domestic women’s game now operating alongside the men’s First-Class Counties (FCCs). They are expected to participate in key tournaments such as the Women’s Vitality Blast and the Women’s Metro Bank One-Day Cup. The latter competition will culminate in its final at the Utilita Bowl on September 21, 2025.
The quartet recently showcased their talent in the Women’s T20 World Cup held in the UAE. Maia Bouchier stood out as England’s second-highest run scorer with 107 runs, while Lauren Bell and Linsey Smith contributed with the ball, taking one and three wickets, respectively. This international experience will undoubtedly bolster their performances in the upcoming series.
