India was crowned as the first champions of WCL 2024

India emerged victorious in the final of the World Championship of Legends 2024, defeating their fierce rivals Pakistan. Led by captain Yuvraj Singh, the Indian team secured a convincing 5-wicket win at Edgbaston. The match witnessed a chase of 157 runs, which India achieved with ease. In the final over, Irfan Pathan smashed the winning boundary off Sohail Tanvir, clinching the victory for the 'Men in Blue'. With this triumph, the exciting inaugural edition of the league drew to a close.

Opting to bat first, Pakistan struggled against India's formidable bowling attack and could only muster a total of 160 runs. India, with a powerful mix of spin and pace, made it tough for Pakistan's batsmen to score freely. The intensity of the India-Pakistan rivalry was on full display as Vinay Kumar and Irfan Pathan showcased their passion after taking crucial wickets.

During the chase, India got off to a strong start with openers, Robin Uthappa and Ambati Rayudu laying a solid foundation. Despite losing a few wickets quickly, India maintained their momentum with a brilliant half-century from Rayudu and a rapid 30 off 16 balls from Yusuf Pathan. Irfan Pathan's late boundaries sealed the win for India, crowning them as the inaugural champions of WCL 2024.
