King, Carty Lead Windies to Series Win Over England

Brandon King and Keacy Carty powered the West Indies to a decisive eight-wicket victory over England in the third ODI at Kensington Oval, clinching the series 2-1. Chasing England’s 263-8, King and Carty shared a remarkable 209-run partnership after the early dismissal of Evin Lewis. King scored 102, falling just before the finish, while Carty sealed the win with an unbeaten 128, hitting the winning boundary as West Indies reached 267-2 with seven overs remaining.

Carty’s maiden ODI hundred came off 114 balls, featuring 15 fours and two sixes, while King’s 102 included 13 fours and one six from 117 deliveries. Reflecting on his innings, King said, "I’ve had a few starts recently, so I’m grateful it all came together today. Keacy was fantastic and batted fluently throughout."

Earlier, Phil Salt’s 74 helped England recover after an initial collapse to 24-4. Lower-order support from Sam Curran (40) and Dan Mousley (57) kept England in the game, with Jamie Overton and Jofra Archer adding quick runs toward the end. Sherfane Rutherford bore the brunt of the late assault, conceding 57 runs in 3.5 overs after replacing the injured Romario Shepherd.

Matthew Forde stood out for West Indies, taking 3-35 in 10 overs, with Alzarri Joseph and Shepherd each picking up two wickets. The series victory mirrors the West Indies’ success over England in the Caribbean 11 months ago. Both teams will stay in Barbados to begin a five-match T20I series this weekend.
