Kishan Set for Return in T20I Series Against Bangladesh

Wicketkeeper-batsman Ishan Kishan is gearing up for his eagerly awaited return to international cricket, likely securing a place in the T20I series against Bangladesh. Kishan's opportunity arises as key players, including Shubman Gill and Rishabh Pant, are expected to rest for the three-match series.

With Pant, who has been the first-choice wicketkeeper for a significant duration, taking a break, it opens the door for Kishan to step in. The Indian team management is looking to implement a rotation policy to prevent injuries in anticipation of the 10 Test matches leading up to the World Test Championship (WTC) Final.

Resting key players while giving Kishan a chance in the T20 series aligns with strategic planning, ensuring regular players remain fresh for the critical Test series against New Zealand set for October.

Kishan had previously withdrawn from the South Africa tour last year due to mental fatigue and had exhibited a lack of interest in domestic competitions, resulting in disciplinary measures from the BCCI, including the loss of his central contract. However, the determined Kishan has made notable progress since then. He represented Jharkhand in the Buchi Babu Invitation Tournament, showcasing his skills with a solid century against Madhya Pradesh. Although he missed the first round of the Duleep Trophy, he bounced back impressively in the second round, scoring a brilliant century against India C, catching the attention of selectors once again.
