Mahmud Steps Down from his position

Former Bangladesh cricket captain Khaled Mahmud has resigned from his role as Director of the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB), according to recent reports. First elected in 2013, Mahmud has served three consecutive terms as a director after defeating Gazi Ashraf Hossain. However, his current term was abruptly cut short due to political changes in the country.

These political shifts have greatly affected the BCB, leading to Mahmud's resignation. The changes follow the departure of former BCB president Nazmul Hassan, sparking a series of transformations within the cricket board, as reported by Cricbuzz.

Throughout his tenure, Mahmud made significant contributions to the development of Bangladesh cricket. He was instrumental as chairman of the BCB’s Game Development Committee, playing a key role in nurturing young talent across the country. One of his notable achievements was overseeing the Bangladesh Under-19 team’s triumph in the 2020 ICC Under-19 World Cup.

In addition to his work as a director, Mahmud has also served as interim head coach and team manager for the national team on multiple occasions.

His resignation comes amid a broader wave of departures from the BCB, with other directors, including Jalal Yunus, Shafiul Alam Chowdhury, and Naimur Rahman, also stepping down.
