Until a new head coach is appointed, assistant coach Dillon du Preez will take over in the interim.
During his 11-year tenure, Moreeng was in charge of 279 matches across all three formats. Under his guidance, the Proteas Women enjoyed significant success, winning 84 of 149 ODIs (56%), and 60 of 127 T20Is (47%), with one draw and two losses in Test cricket.
The 46-year-old became the first national coach to reach a senior World Cup final on home soil during the 2023 Women's T20 World Cup. That followed two semi-final appearances in 2014 and 2020.
At the ODI World Cup, Moreeng's charges reached the semi-finals twice, in 2017 and 2022, losing to England on both occasions.
Other changes to the Proteas Women's coaching staff include the departure of physiotherapist Molebatsi Theletsane, who will be replaced by Neline Hoffman Kellerman.
EP Warriors assistant coach Baakier Abrahams has been appointed batting coach, while Central Gauteng Lions' Bongani Ndaba takes over as fielding coach.
Both Abrahams and Ndaba briefly advised the team during the recent home series against Sri Lanka.
