News from the CSA T20 Challenge & T20 KO 2024: Division 2
In Division 2, Limpopo Impalas booked their place in the CSA T20 Knockout Final with a 17-run win over Eastern Cape Iinyathi in Polokwane.
Skipper Ruan Haasbroek smashed a winning half-century with 55 runs off just 29 deliveries. He received valuable support from Liam Peters (37) and Louren Steenkamp (33) to guide the Impalas to a competitive total of 159/8.
Jade de Klerk led Iinyathi's bowling with figures of 3/19 from four overs.
Haasbroek's influence extended beyond his batting, as he also made a significant contribution with the ball, taking two crucial wickets, dismissing Eben Botha and running out Thobile Hlatuka.
Impala's momentum was sustained by consistent breakthroughs, with notable contributions from Jason Niemand (30), Jacques van der Merwe (24), Botha (23) and Marco Marais (21).
Despite a valiant effort from Iinyathi, they fell short and ended their innings on 142/6.
