Pakistan will have a tough 2024-25 season

Pakistan is gearing up to host a busy 2024-25 home season, which will feature seven Tests against Bangladesh, England, and West Indies. The season will kick off with Bangladesh playing two Tests in Rawalpindi and Karachi from August 21 to September 3. This will be followed by England playing three Tests in Multan, Karachi, and Rawalpindi from October 7-28.

In addition to the Test matches, Pakistan will also host an ODI tri-series against New Zealand and South Africa, followed by the Champions Trophy. The ODI tri-series will take place in Multan from February 8-14, while the Champions Trophy is expected to be held from February 19 to March 9.

After the Test series against West Indies in January 2025, Pakistan will also host an ODI tri-series involving South Africa and New Zealand. This will be followed by the Champions Trophy, which will be the first ICC event hosted by Pakistan in 29 years.

Despite the busy schedule, Lahore, where the PCB headquarters is located, is not scheduled to host any fixtures until the Champions Trophy due to the redevelopment of Gaddafi Stadium. The PCB is confident that the Stadium will be ready in time for the tournament.

It remains to be seen if India will participate in the Champions Trophy, as they are the only team to have not travelled to Pakistan since international cricket resumed in the country in 2015.
