Kagiso Rabada struck early on Day 4 of the Mirpur Test, removing Bangladesh's overnight batters, Mushfiqur Rahim and Mahmudul Hasan Joy, in quick succession. Bangladesh, starting the day at 101 for three, collapsed to 106 for five, still trailing South Africa by 95 runs and facing the prospect of an innings defeat.
Mahmudul, who resumed on 38 and managed to add just two more runs to reach 40, was caught at slips after driving loosely at a wide delivery from Rabada. In his next over, Rabada bowled Mushfiqur (33) with an incoming delivery that slipped between bat and pad, sending the stumps flying.
Rabada, who became the fastest bowler to reach 300 Test wickets earlier in the series, delivered a devastating spell that left Bangladesh reeling. The situation worsened when Liton Das, who briefly tried to stabilise the innings, was caught at slips off Keshav Maharaj for seven.
With Bangladesh still behind on runs and losing their key batters early in the morning session, their hopes of avoiding an innings defeat are quickly fading as South Africa pushes for a dominant victory.
