Raza acknowledged the need to address issues at the top of the batting order

Following a disappointing 4-1 loss in the T20I series against India, Zimbabwe captain Sikandar Raza has acknowledged the pressing need to address issues plaguing the team's performance. Raza highlighted the struggles at the top of the batting order and emphasised the importance of improving their attitude on the field. While they managed to secure a win in the opening match, Zimbabwe failed to maintain their momentum throughout the series. Raza commended Blessing Muzarabani's bowling prowess but pointed out the team's subpar batting display and the necessity to rectify on-field mistakes. Looking ahead to future fixtures, Raza emphasised the significance of continuous improvement and unwavering hard work.

Recent performances by Muzarabani and Ngarava garnered praise from Raza, who expressed disappointment over Ngarava's initial absence due to injury. With an upcoming one-off Test match against Ireland on the horizon, Raza hinted at his possible exclusion from the lineup due to insufficient red-ball cricket practice. Stressing the importance of managing his workload and focusing on regaining full fitness before committing to Test cricket, Raza revealed plans to return to domestic cricket to assess his form and readiness for the longer formats of the game. Despite these challenges, Raza eagerly anticipates participation in The Hundred tournament in Manchester soon.
