Sharma’s explosive performance helped the team to win

India's aggressive approach in the game led them to victory in the ICC T20 World Cup, with former England captain Nasser Hussain commending skipper Rohit Sharma for his explosive performance. Sharma's outstanding innings against Australia was described by Hussain as a display of "brutal elegance," with the highlight being his incredible knock of 92 runs off just 41 balls, which included seven fours and eight sixes. Notable moments included scoring 29 runs off Mitchell Starc in the third over and smashing a huge six off Pat Cummins.

Hussain attributed India's change in tactics to their defeat against England in the 2022 T20 World Cup semifinals, prompting them to adopt a more aggressive strategy in subsequent matches. Despite facing challenges on difficult pitches in New York's Nassau County Stadium, India was able to regain their aggressive mindset in other games. Sharma was lauded for setting the tone and focusing on the team's score, balls faced, and strike rate rather than personal milestones like half-centuries or centuries.

Sharma's remarkable innings of 92 runs helped India post a total of 205/5, ultimately leading to Australia's defeat with a score of 181/7. Despite Travis Head's aggressive innings of 76 off 43 balls, Australia fell short of the target, resulting in their exit from the tournament. In six matches, Rohit has amassed 191 runs at an average of 38.20 and a strike rate of 159.16, with two half-centuries to his name, highlighting his crucial role in India's successful campaign in the T20 World Cup.
