During a training session at Kensington Oval in Barbados, Indian cricket superstar Virat Kohli had the privilege of meeting the legendary West Indies fast bowler, Sir Wes Hall. The special encounter occurred on June 18, just before India's crucial T20 World Cup Super 8 match against Afghanistan. Kohli, along with his teammates Rohit Sharma and head coach Rahul Dravid, were presented with signed copies of Sir Wes Hall's autobiography.

At 86 years old, Sir Wes Hall showered praise on Kohli, hailing him as "the best batsman" he had ever witnessed. The former pacer's words of admiration were sincere. Known for his humility, Kohli responded with a smile, clearly touched by the kind words from the cricketing great.

Sir Wes Hall expressed to Kohli, "It is an honour to meet you - the best batter in the world. Believe it, as it is true. I have closely followed your exceptional career from the beginning. Having witnessed numerous great players in my time, I can confidently say that you are among the very best. I wish you many more successful years representing India. And when your playing days are over, please give back to the game as much as you can."

Kohli listened intently, visibly moved by the praise from such a respected figure in cricket history.

Head coach Rahul Dravid expressed his excitement about the meeting and the opportunity to read Sir Wes Hall's autobiography. Dravid, a former India captain himself, appreciated the significance of the moment and the legendary pacer's contributions to cricket.

- Cricketing Career - Sir Wes Hall played 48 Tests for the West Indies between 1958 and 1969, taking 192 wickets, including 9 five-wicket hauls. His pace and accuracy made him one of the most feared bowlers of his time.

- After retiring, Hall continued to serve West Indies cricket in various capacities, including as team manager and president of the West Indies Cricket Board.
