Social media feud

The T20 World Cup game between the USA and India caused a clash on social media between USA cricketers Jaskaran Malhotra and Ali Khan. After the USA's defeat to India, Jaskaran posted a meme on X, previously recognised as Twitter, joking about his teammate Shayan Jahangir's early dismissal. The meme alluded to Jahangir's earlier comment about wanting to face off against Virat Kohli and show him "who's boss."

Ali Khan, disappointed by Jaskaran's post, criticised his ex-teammate for displaying hate towards another player, deeming it unprofessional. In response, Jaskaran defended himself, urging Ali Khan to review his post and claiming he was merely supporting his team.

Jaskaran is renowned for his achievement of hitting six sixes in an over during an ODI match in 2021 and for becoming the first USA player to score a century in ODIs, with an unbeaten 173 off 124 balls.
