South Africa U19 Women Sweep Ireland 5-0 in T20I Series

The South Africa U19 Women’s cricket team showcased a stellar performance, led by captain Kayla Reyneke, as they completed a 5-0 sweep against Ireland U19 in the Youth T20 International series in Tshwane. Reyneke's all-round brilliance was pivotal, particularly highlighted during the fourth T20I where she scored a career-best fifty and took a wicket, propelling South Africa to a 37-run victory.

In the series opener, South Africa, batting first after Ireland won the toss, faced early setbacks but bounced back to post an impressive total of 168/6. Reyneke's explosive 73 runs off 42 balls, complemented by Karabo Meso’s quick 36, anchored the innings. The bowling unit, led by Reyneke, Mona-Lisa Legodi, and Fay Cowling, effectively restricted Ireland to 131 runs, despite a commendable 73 from Irish captain Amy Hunter.

In the final T20I, South Africa again excelled in bowling, limiting Ireland to 104 runs, thanks to strong performances from Reyneke, Nthabiseng Nini, and Cowling. Though Ireland's Aimee Maguire put up a fierce challenge with four wickets, South Africa's lower order steadied the innings, completing the chase with contributions from Simoné Lourens and others.

Kayla Reyneke was named Player of the Series, scoring 138 runs and taking seven wickets across the five matches.
