Danni Wyatt led Southern Brave to a seven-wicket rain-affected victory over Oval Invincibles, moving to the top of the women’s run-scorers list. Wyatt scored an unbeaten 46 off 37 balls, guiding her team to their first win of the season with one ball to spare.
Lauren Cheatle and Tilly Corteen-Coleman each took two wickets, limiting the Invincibles to 79 for 4 after a rain delay pushed the innings back over an hour. Marizanne Kapp’s unbeaten 26 from 17 balls helped set a revised target of 83.
Wyatt was dropped twice but secured the win, surpassing Nat Sciver-Brunt's 209 runs to become the leading run-scorer. Sophia Smale took the crucial wicket of Freya Kemp, but Wyatt’s decisive boundary clinched the match.
Cheatle had earlier dismissed Chamari Athapaththu for a duck and Alice Capsey, while Corteen-Coleman took two wickets in successive balls. The game was reduced to 65 balls per side due to rain, and Kapp’s late hitting added some resilience for the Invincibles.
