Steyn: Maphaka's future looks bright

Former Proteas fast bowler Dale Steyn has reassured fans that Kwena Maphaka will recover from his disappointing IPL debut for the Mumbai Indians.

The 17-year-old quick conceded 66 runs in his four overs as Sunrisers Hyderabad posted 277-3, the highest IPL total.

During the match on Wednesday, Steyn posted on X: 

“Maphaka realizing the difference between U19 and the PRO league. Baptism of fire.”

After receiving criticism on social media for his lack of support for the youngster, Steyn posted on Thursday that he woke up thinking about Kwena Maphaka, but Steyn knows he’s surrounded by some amazing people at MI and he’s going to be absolutely fine.
