SWD star signed by Warriors

Jean du Plessis, a batsman from South Western Districts, will be joining the EP Warriors for the upcoming season.

In the recently concluded Division 2 4-Day Series, the 25-year-old scored 591 runs in just five matches at an impressive average of 73.87, including three centuries and a fifty.

Notably, he scored two centuries in a single match against the Eastern Cape Inyathi (Border), with scores of 203 and 101.

His performances earned him a spot in the South Africa A team, where he scored 106 and 50 against India A in Potchefstroom.

Du Plessis was loaned to the Boland Rocks for one Division 1 4-Day Series match against the Central Gauteng Lions. He scored an impressive 120 runs in the second innings.

Overall, he scored 882 first-class runs this season at an average of 80.18.
