Australia's David Warner says the T20 World Cup in the West Indies and USA will not see the same mammoth scores on flat pitches in this year's IPL.
The current edition of the world's richest cricket tournament has seen monumental scores, including Sunrisers Hyderabad twice breaking the IPL record with 277 and 287.
Warner's Delhi Capitals were at the receiving end of another run-fest as Hyderabad posted 266-7 at the weekend. Fellow Australian Travis Head made a 32-ball 89 to help the hosts to the victory.
But veteran opening batsman Warner said the pitches in the West Indies will have something to offer the bowlers when the global T20 showpiece begins on June 1.
Australian batsmen Head and up-and-comer Jake Fraser-McGurk have been scoring at strike rates of 216 and above. They have been wreaking havoc on opposition IPL bowlers.
Warner has not been at his best so far this season with 167 runs at a strike-rate of 135.77, but he said the anchor role will be key in the West Indies.
Winners of the 2016 IPL under Warner, Hyderabad, and their batsmen have redefined T20 scoring with their ability to hit almost every ball out of the park.
Twice this year, they have hit a match-record 22 sixes and at Delhi's Feroz Shah Kotla ground, they smashed an IPL-record 125 runs in the first six overs.
