Cricket South Africa (CSA) and the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) have announced a T20 International (T20I) series between the Proteas Women and Pakistan, scheduled to take place from September 16 to 20 at the Multan Cricket Stadium in Multan, Pakistan.

The Proteas Women are set to arrive in Multan, located in the Punjab province, on September 13. They will compete in three T20I matches, with the first two games scheduled under the lights at 19:00 local time (16:00 SAST) on September 16 and 18. The third and final match will be held on September 20, starting at 10:00 local time (07:00 SAST).

After completing the series, the South African team will depart for the United Arab Emirates on September 21 to continue their preparations for the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2024.

In the updated World Cup schedule, the Proteas Women have been placed in Group B alongside West Indies, England, Scotland, and Bangladesh. The 2023 finalists will kick off their campaign against the West Indies on Friday, October 4, before facing England (October 7), Scotland (October 9), and Bangladesh (October 12). The semi-finals are set for October 17 and 18, with the final scheduled for Sunday, October 20.

Enoch Nkwe, CSA's Director of Cricket, commented:  "This T20I series against Pakistan is a crucial part of our preparations for the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup. It gives the team an invaluable opportunity to gain match practice, allowing us to fine-tune our strategies and ensure our players are in peak form. We are deeply grateful to the PCB for their collaboration in organising this series. It not only aids in our World Cup preparations but also strengthens the relationship between our cricket boards, marking the Proteas Women’s second visit to Pakistan within a year. This series reflects our shared commitment to growing the women’s game. Additionally, by playing more international matches, we are providing our players with a platform to showcase their talent and inspire the next generation of cricketers. We anticipate a highly competitive series that will benefit both teams and further elevate women’s cricket on the global stage."
