The Asian Cricket Council (ACC) has unveiled the schedule for this year's Women's T20 Asia Cup, set to commence on July 19 in Dambulla, Sri Lanka.
India, the defending champions, will kick off their campaign against Pakistan, while the UAE takes on Nepal in the tournament's opening match.
Eight leading teams from across Asia are divided into two groups. In Group B, India will face off against Pakistan, UAE, and Nepal. Meanwhile, hosts Sri Lanka lead Group A, joined by Bangladesh, Thailand, and Malaysia.
The top two teams from each group will progress to the semifinals, with the final scheduled for July 28.
India, the most successful team in the tournament's history with seven titles, clinched victory in the 2022 final against Sri Lanka, winning by eight wickets. Pakistan was the sole team to defeat India during that campaign.
The Asia Cup serves as vital preparation for the upcoming 2024 Women's T20 World Cup in Bangladesh this October.
