The demand for relocating the remaining T20 matches

Fans are urging the International Cricket Council (ICC) to move the remaining T20 World Cup 2024 matches from Florida due to heavy rains and flash flood alerts. The recent deluge in South Florida has caused widespread flooding, disrupting daily life in the city.

Social media has been flooded with images and videos showing waterlogged streets, raising concerns about the viability of hosting cricket games in these conditions. With flood warnings still in place, fans are pushing for the ICC to consider relocating the matches to alternative venues such as New York or Dallas.

Despite the challenges, three matches are set to be held at the Central Broward Regional Park Stadium Turf Ground in Lauderhill, Florida on June 14, 15, and 16. Of particular importance are the matches featuring USA and Pakistan, which will determine their qualification for the Super 8 stage.

Co-hosts USA are set to face Ireland on June 14 in a crucial Group A encounter. A victory for the USA would secure their spot in the Super 8, while a washout would also see them advance based on points earned from previous matches. However, such an outcome would hinder Pakistan's chances of progressing, as they are currently third in the group standings.

Pakistan's fate hinges on the results of both their own match against the USA on June 16 and the USA-Ireland fixture. They cannot afford a washout in their final game, as it would effectively eliminate them from the tournament.

The inclement weather in Florida threatens to dampen the excitement of the tournament and presents a significant challenge to the ICC's efforts to promote cricket in the USA. Fans hope that the governing body will consider their concerns and make arrangements to ensure the smooth continuation of the tournament.
