The Free State aims to become a 'competitive force'

According to Free State Cricket CEO Johan van Heerden, the Knights will be stronger when they return to Division 1 next season.

After a challenging 2022-23 season that resulted in their relegation, the Knights performed well in all formats during the 2023-24 season, securing two Division 2 final spots and earning promotion.

“The Knights have shown incredible determination and skill in reaching this milestone. Their promotion to Division 1 is a testament to their hard work and the high standards they set for themselves.”

The team that will be relegated from Division 1 will be confirmed at the end of the T20 Challenge.
