The memorable appearance of Kieron Pollard at the Hundred Final
Kieron Pollard made a memorable appearance at The Hundred Final on August 19, where he paid tribute to Turkish shooter Yusuf Dikec's viral "gunpoint" celebration. Dikec gained popularity for his impressive shooting performance, especially after winning a silver medal at the Paris Olympics. During the match against the Oval Invincibles, Pollard celebrated a catch of Donovan Ferreira by mimicking a marksman, embracing the fun and engaging atmosphere of the event. His teammate, Akeal Hosein, joined in on the celebration by recreating the gesture after dismissing Sam Curran.
Despite the celebratory moments, Pollard's individual performance was underwhelming as he was dismissed from the game for a four-ball duck. Unfortunately for the Southern Brave, they were unable to clinch victory, losing the match by 17 runs. Saqib Mahmood's exceptional bowling was instrumental in leading the Oval Invincibles to their back-to-back championship victory in The Hundred, making history in the process.
