Titans move into top four in T20 Challenge wrap
The Northern Titans improved their T20 Challenge semi-final chances with an eight-wicket victory over the KZN Inland Tuskers in Centurion on Sunday.
The Central Gauteng Lions and KZN Dolphins, both playoff contenders, also secured impressive victories. Meanwhile, the Boland Rocks caused an upset by defeating the log-leading EP Warriors in Paarl.
The highlight of the day was on the Highveld, where the defending champions successfully chased down a target of 142 in just 12.3 overs.
Right-handed opener Rivaldo Moonsamy was in destructive form, smashing five sixes and 11 fours in an incredible 41-ball spectacle. He almost single-handedly led his team to a bonus-point victory.
This was achieved after the Titans’ bowlers dismissed their opponents, who were asked to bat first, for 141 in 19.4 overs.
David Wiese, a veteran, was the standout bowler with figures of 3-21, including a maiden, while Dayyaan Galiem also impressed with 3-24.
The entire bowling unit performed well, with Lungi Ngidi taking 2-12 in three overs and Corbin Bosch finishing with 2-20 in three overs. This victory moved the home team up to fourth place, overtaking Western Province.
