Todd Greenberg Appointed as Cricket Australia's New CEO

Cricket Australia (CA) has announced Todd Greenberg as its new Chief Executive Officer, a role he will officially assume at the end of the current domestic season in March 2025. Greenberg will take over from Nick Hockley, who had earlier revealed his intention to step down from the position after serving as CEO since 2020.

"I am grateful to be given the opportunity to take on this enormously important role in Australian sport and to further my involvement with a game I've loved since childhood," Greenberg said. "This is an extremely exciting time for cricket with the rapid growth of the game across the globe creating fantastic opportunities, while also presenting some challenges to ensure Australian cricket retains its position at the very peak of the game."

With extensive experience in sports administration, Greenberg brings a wealth of expertise to his new role. He previously served as CEO of the National Rugby League (NRL) and the Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs, in addition to being the General Manager of Stadium Australia. Most recently, he led the Australian Cricketers' Association, fostering productive partnerships within the cricketing community.

Mike Baird, Chair of Cricket Australia, praised Greenberg’s qualifications, noting his success in driving commercial growth and innovation during his tenure in rugby league. Baird pointed to Greenberg’s achievements, such as launching the NRL Women’s competition and expanding the State of Origin series to Melbourne, as examples of his forward-thinking leadership.

Baird also acknowledged the contributions of outgoing CEO Nick Hockley, commending his leadership in securing foundational agreements, including broadcast rights and a seven-year content strategy, which have left Australian cricket in a strong position.

Greenberg’s background in cricket is equally notable. A former first-grade player for Randwick in NSW Premier Cricket, he has also served as the Events and Promotions Manager for Cricket NSW. He holds a degree in sports science from the University of New South Wales and a master’s degree from the University of Technology, Sydney.

As Australian cricket enters a pivotal phase of growth, Greenberg’s appointment signals a commitment to innovation, sustainability, and further success in both domestic and international arenas.
