Travis Head and Heinrich Klaasen gain Orange Caps after RCB vs SRH match in IPL 2024

In a high-scoring IPL clash at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium, Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) defeated Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) by 25 runs. RCB chose to bowl first but faced a daunting SRH batting lineup. SRH set a new IPL record with a colossal total of 287/3, thanks to Travis Head’s spectacular century (102 off 41 balls) and Heinrich Klaasen’s brisk 67. There was a record 22 sixes in their innings.

In response, RCB's top order, led by Virat Kohli and Faf du Plessis, fought hard but struggled to maintain the required run rate. Despite Dinesh Karthik's blazing 83 and du Plessis' 62, RCB fell short, finishing on 262/7. Pat Cummins was exceptional for SRH, picking up three crucial wickets in the process. Karthik's innings entertained the crowd but couldn't prevent RCB's fifth consecutive loss, keeping them at the bottom of the points table.

Updated Orange Cap table after RCB vs SRH match

In the latest update of the Orange Cap standings in the IPL 2024 season, Virat Kohli continues to dominate at the top. He maintained his position after scoring a quick-fire 42 in 20 balls against Sunrisers Hyderabad. Riyan Parag maintained his position at second with 23 runs off 18 balls. Sanju Samson moved up to third with 18 runs off 14 balls against Punjab Kings.

Heinrich Klaasen's outstanding innings of 67 runs off 31 balls for SRH against RCB moved him up to sixth place in the standings, with 253 runs in 6 matches. He replaced Shivam Dube, who dropped to seventh position.

On Sunday, Rohit Sharma's unbeaten century helped him climb to fourth place in the standings, surpassing Gujarat Titans' captain Shubman Gill.

Travis Head is in eighth position after his thunderous knock of 102 in 41 balls. The left-handed Australian batsman has scored 235 runs at a strike rate of 199. Faf Du Plessis and Dinesh Karthik are currently in the ninth and tenth positions with 232 and 226 runs respectively.
