The EP Warriors won their eighth consecutive T20 Challenge match of the season by defeating Western Province by nine wickets in Paarl on Sunday.
In the early game at Boland Park, the Warriors bowled first after losing the toss and restricted Province to 142-7. Nealan van Heerden and Alfred Mothoa took two wickets each, while George Linde top-scored with 30 runs.
Although several others made good starts, they failed to build on them as the log-leaders dominated the game.
In response, Jiveshan Pillay (31) and Matthew Breetzke (62* off 48 balls; five fours, two sixes) formed an 80-run partnership for the opening wicket. Later, Beyers Swanepoel's aggressive innings of 47* off 20 balls, including six sixes, led the Warriors to a comfortable victory with 3.3 overs remaining.
