WP celebrate a wicket, by Gallo Images

Western Province is currently in a good position

Bowling coach Rory Kleinveldt states that Western Province will enter the 4-Day Domestic Series final against the Central Gauteng Lions with confidence.

WP have won their last two league matches, including a 259-run win over the KZN Dolphins at Newlands last week. The win has left them second on the log.

A five-day final, starting on Wednesday (10 am, SuperSport channel 207), will pit them against table-topping Lions.

WP are scheduled to play their second final of the season after winning the One-Day Cup.

Kleinveldt, WP’s capitan, states that the conditions at the Wanderers will have a significant impact on the outcome of the final.

“I feel like we’ve got enough experience in the changing room to be able to give us a quick assessment of what conditions are like and how we need to go about conquering those conditions.”

Western Province squad:
Kyle Verreynne, Eddie Moore, Tony de Zorzi, Wesley Bedja, Onke Nyaku, Jono Bird, Nandre Burger, Kyle Simmonds, Daniel Smith, Yaseen Vallie, Gavin Kaplan, Valentine Kitime, Beuran Hendricks, Mthiwekhaya Nabe, Mihlali Mpongwana, Dane Paterson.
