What happens if India refuses to play against Pakistan CC Champions Trophy 2025?

The BCCI has declined to participate in the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 in Pakistan due to safety concerns. The draft had originally placed India in Lahore for all their matches, but the BCCI is pushing for alternative venues like Sri Lanka and Dubai.

If India indeed pulls out of the tournament, Sri Lanka is expected to take their place based on ICC rankings. The last time India played in Pakistan was in 2008, and bilateral series between the two countries have been discontinued since 2013.

A source from the BCCI stated that India will not travel to Pakistan for the Champions Trophy and will seek to have matches relocated to Dubai or Sri Lanka. The final decision on India's participation rests on approval from the central government, as emphasized by BCCI vice-president Rajeev Shukla in May.
