Women's T20 World Cup opens in SA v England
The Proteas will take on England in the opening match of the Women's T20 World Cup in Bangladesh later this year.
The event will be held in the capital Dhaka and the northeastern city of Sylhet from 3-20 October, with warm-up matches starting on 27 September.
Bangladesh and the top six teams from the last edition in South Africa, Australia, England, New Zealand, South Africa, and West Indiam, have secured automatic qualification, with Pakistan following in their footsteps.
Ireland, the UAE, Sri Lanka, and Scotland will battle it out for the remaining two places, with the semi-finals of the qualifying tournament to be held in the UAE.
Six-time winners and current world number one Australia are in Group A alongside India, New Zealand, Pakistan, and a Qualifier 1.
On October 6, neighbours and rivals India and Pakistan will clash.
Group B is made up of South Africa, Bangladesh, England, West Indies and Qualifier 2.
It will be the ninth edition of the tournament, with Bangladesh previously being the host country in 2014.
