Hardik shared his bowling approach

During the ongoing T20 World Cup, Hardik Pandya has been a standout performer for India, showcasing his skills with both bat and ball. After India's impressive 50-run victory against Bangladesh, where Hardik scored an unbeaten 50 off 27 balls and also took a wicket, he engaged in a meaningful conversation with former India head coach and broadcaster Ravi Shastri. The discussion revolved around his strategies and performances in the tournament.

Hardik revealed his bowling approach, highlighting the significance of teamwork and adapting to the match situation rather than solely focusing on taking wickets. "Jasprit and I discussed how I don't aim to take wickets. My focus is on delivering good balls and fulfilling the team's requirements. Individual performances don't matter in this sport. It's all about bowling the right ball at the right time. If I happen to get a wicket in the process, that's a bonus," Hardik shared in a video shared on ICC's Instagram account.

Regarding his batting, Hardik mentioned how his performance in the match against Afghanistan boosted his confidence. He highlighted the significance of playing smart cricket and adapting to the situation. “The same goes for batting, depending on the situation and how many wickets we have lost. My last hit against AFG helped me with my confidence. Today, I knew there was something for the batter to score runs. I played smart cricket and wanted to capitalise,” added Hardik.

In the match against Afghanistan, Hardik played a crucial knock of 32 runs, supporting Suryakumar Yadav after a top-order collapse. His contributions have been vital in maintaining India's unbeaten run in the tournament, where they have secured wins against Ireland, the United States, Pakistan, Afghanistan, and Bangladesh.

India now prepares to face Australia in a critical Super Eight clash. A loss for Australia would knock them out of the tournament following their shock defeat to Afghanistan. India, on the other hand, will aim to secure their spot in the semi-finals and keep their winning streak intact.

Hardik's resurgence in form, especially after a disappointing Indian Premier League season, has been instrumental in India's success. His all-round performances have earned praise from fans and experts alike, underscoring his importance to the team as they chase World Cup glory.
