In the SA20, Klusener will also be in charge of the Super Giants in Durban.
Lucknow Super Giants have appointed former South African all-rounder Lance Klusener as an assistant coach for IPL 2024. Klusener is also responsible for Super Giants' SA20 affiliate, Durban's Super Giants. He will join head coach Justin Langer and fellow assistant coach S Sriram in the Super Giants' backroom.
This will be Klusener's second stint as an IPL coach, having previously served as an assistant to former South African captain Shaun Pollock at Mumbai Indians in the early years of the IPL.
Under Klusener's leadership, Guyana Amazon Warriors won their first CPL title last year. Klusener will be reunited with West Indies sensation Shamar Joseph in the IPL, having previously worked together with the Amazon Warriors in the CPL. Joseph replaces Mark Wood at the Super Giants.
Klusener has experience as the head coach of Afghanistan. He was also the batting coach of South Africa and Zimbabwe. In the Indian domestic circuit, he has worked with Tripura.
Between 1996 and 2004, Klusener played 49 Tests and 171 ODIs for South Africa.
The Super Giants will begin their IPL 2024 campaign against the Rajasthan Royals in Jaipur on March 24.
