The KZN Dolphins secured their first win of the season at Kingsmead in Durban, defeating the previously unbeaten the Central Gauteng Lions by four wickets in the final over.
Despite losing the toss, Proteas Test captain Temba Bavuma's knock of 53* off 40 balls (including three fours and two sixes) helped lift his side to a total of 155-5. Okuhle Cele took 2-21 and Ottniel Baartman claimed 4-25.
The hosts lost wickets throughout the chase, but opener Bryce Parsons (62* from 49 balls, four fours, three sixes) held the innings together. With the help of Jason Smith (32), they won the match with five balls to spare.
The best Lions bowler was Delano Potgieter (3-25).
The T20 Challenge will continue with all eight teams in action.
